Sedation Dentistry

high tech dentistry in canton miEven the most fearful patients can say goodbye to the white knuckle experience of going to the dentist. Those who have avoided the dentist for years due to bad experiences in the past can now comfortably snooze through even the most complex care thanks to Dr. Bazzi and Sedation Dentistry. Complex treatment that used to require many visits or even months of treatment can now be completed in as little as one single visit with Dr. Bazzi's Method of Sedation Dentistry.

Experience Dr. Bazzi's Sedation Dentistry just once and you will never be afraid to go to the dentist again. We use an advanced dental laser to gently and effectively treat the ravages of gum disease usually without numbing anesthesia. It helps stop the progression of the tooth and bone destroying disease. Laser treatment helps to eliminate the need for conventional, often painful, gum surgery in up to 75% of cases.

The laser can also be used to gently and artistically refashion the gum line. It can turn short teeth or a gummy smile into the smile you've always wanted. It also improves the result and accuracy of complicated dental procedures.

Needle Free Anesthetic (Oraqix)

This new type of anesthetic allows numbing of gum tissue for comfort during deep cleanings without the need for the old-fashioned "stick" of the dental needle. It has been featured on the Today Show and in SELF magazine and Dr. Bazzi is proud to be one of the first doctors to adopt its use.

Advanced Local Antibiotics

Canton mi sedation dentistryFor patients undergoing treatment that halts infections in the gum and bones that cause tooth loss, Dr. Bazzi's hygienist often uses a type of antibiotic that is completely painless. This means the antibiotic is more effective because the infection is "hit hard" by its direct application to the problem and it also means that you don't expose your whole body to an antibiotic which contributes to the antibiotic resistance of bacteria.

Medical Topical Anesthesic Pastes

Say good-bye to feeling the dreaded anesthetic needle. Dr. Bazzi has a medical breakthrough that makes dental anesthesia. A special medical grade anesthetic allows for completely painless injections. Patients can't believe that they just had a shot.

In-Office Sedation

We offer many ways to make our patients who are undergoing complex smile restorations feel comfortable. Sedation dentistry that makes everything go away: stress, worry, and memory of the procedure

One-Visit Root Canals

The root canal is a procedure that has kept many people away from the dental office including those who might not need one, just because of the"mythic lore" behind the term. Much of the reason for the fear wasn't so much the discomfort, but the technique used. It used to be, and still is in many offices, a manual or imprecise mechanical process.

At our office we use the latest technology. Our Dentists can precisely locate the apex of the root electronically and with a computer controlled device, we can remove the damaged or diseased root efficiently and more comfortably.

Amazing Diagnostics

Intraoral Camera

This is not only a diagnostic tool, it is an educational supplement for our patients. The intraoral camera (it looks like an oversized pen) magnifies the surface areas of the teeth and helps us locate small pits and cracks that might be harboring disease. This up-close information is immediately available to both doctor and patient on a TV monitor in the exam room.

This visual feedback also helps our patients understand the value of modern dentistry. It is possible to see the damage caused by old, metal amalgam fillings that expand and contract and can cause cracking and breaking.

Laser Cavity Detection

Detecting cavities is often an inexact science. Fortunately, technology is giving us a better view of disease at an earlier stage. The DIAGNOdent laser system is a spectacular breakthrough in dental cavity detection. Before its use nearly fifty percent of cavities went undetected until they led to root canals or even tooth loss. Now we can uncover disease more consistently and prevent significant tooth loss.

The DIAGNOdent laser light harmlessly, and precisely, detects cavities. One of the most difficult areas to locate cavities is on the chewing areas of teeth and under and around metal fillings. The laser makes it possible for us to lift the veil on what used to be hidden areas of dental decay. All this is done safely, painlessly and without exposure to x-rays. In addition, this technology also means that only areas that truly have decay get treatment since all the 'guesswork' of previous cavity detection techniques has been eliminated.

Safety Protocols

We use state-of-the-art sterilization techniques on any instrumentation not disposed of. We meet or exceed OSHA standards in cleanliness. We continually disinfect all surfaces touched by patients or staff members.

Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)

Dr. Bazzi maintains a state of the art AED in his office which is not required in any medical or dental office. While our emergency response teams typically arrive within 15 minutes if needed, for every minute a heart attack victim goes untreated their chances of survival decrease by 10%. While a heart attack in a dental office is just as likely as in the grocery store, Dr. Bazzi added this optional emergency equipment in the office for the protection of his patients and the businesses surrounding the office in case of a medical emergency.
